CJ BIO announced on the 13th that it will take part in IFT FIRST (Institute of Food Technologists FIRST) 2026, running for three days starting on the 13th local time at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
At this year’s exhibition, CJ BIO will operate an experiential booth called the TasteNrich® Taste Lab, built around a laboratory concept, where visitors can sample menus featuring TasteNrich’s differentiated taste solutions. Through the experience, attendees will see firsthand how CJ BIO addresses some of the food industry’s most pressing global challenges—reducing sodium, fat, and dairy content, improving off-notes in plant-based proteins, enabling clean label formulations, and enhancing umami. *Clean label refers to foods or ingredients characterized by features such as no additives, non-GMO, non-allergen, natural ingredients, and minimal processing.
Rather than simply reducing the amount of certain ingredients, CJ BIO’s taste solutions are built around flavor design, an approach that optimizes a product’s overall flavor balance and taste. This allows the solutions to boost consumer satisfaction in taste and texture, while also resolving formulation challenges that can arise when replacing ingredients.
TasteNrich brings together CJ BIO’s microbial fermentation R&D expertise and advanced technology in a next-generation flavor solution. It is created by fermenting naturally derived raw materials such as sugarcane, without any artificial additives. After years of research, CJ BIO developed a differentiated natural fermentation process—free of artificial steps like refinement or chemical treatment—and successfully scaled it for mass production.
As global consumer trends shift from “Healthy Pleasure,” which emphasizes enjoying health and wellness, to “Clean Pleasure,” which places equal weight on safe, natural ingredients, CJ BIO plans to accelerate the diversification of its TasteNrich portfolio around customer-tailored solutions, while rolling out country-specific strategies to further strengthen its position in the global market.
“TasteNrich is a next-generation flavor solution built on CJ’s differentiated fermentation technology, designed to address the key challenges facing the global food industry,” said a CJ BIO official. “We will continue introducing customized taste solutions that meet global trends and consumer needs.”
